We were back at Replay Bar for Classic Take 2!, giving our matchplay + single-elimination format another run after we had to change the format away from it a few events ago. A strong turnout (with a few new faces in the mix!) meant plenty of tight qualifying rounds before we headed into finals, with machines playing so well we even had to bump up the difficulty to keep things moving.
Qualifying set the stage with Patrick Hewitt leading the pack, and he carried that momentum straight through A-Division finals. Patrick was on a mission — repeatedly picking Black Knight and absolutely blowing it up — on his way to taking the win and the Pac-Man mini Pinball Machine. Tom Fonda put together another strong showing to finish 2nd, while Kaleb Southwell knocked out Joshua Hesketh for 3rd and 4th respectively.
In B-Division, Nathon Clerke came out on top to claim the win and his own Pac-Man mini Pinball Machine, with Aaron Bloodnut finishing 2nd getting a Stern Flyer + Free re-entry to another TAPP event. While Laura Hewitt snagged the door prize of the same (Flyer+Re-entry).
There were some great moments across the night — including Josh pulling off back-to-back natural death-saves on Black Knight (so close to three in a row!), and Laura managing one of her own in the same game… safe to say that right outlane was running hot.
Big thanks to everyone who came along, especially our new players — we hope you had a blast and we’ll see you back again soon.
Finally, of course, we couldn't do it without the support of our sponsors. Thank you Replay Bar for hosting us, and thank you AMD for continuing to supply us with prizes and support.
We’re giving our “classic” format another go! The plan is to run matchplay qualifying followed by a single elimination finals bracket—but as always, we’ll stay flexible depending on numbers, timing, and how the night unfolds.
In matchplay, you’ll play across multiple rounds in groups, earning points based on your finishing position each game to determine rankings; then in single elimination finals, the top players enter a knockout bracket where it’s win and advance, lose and you’re out.
Classic Take 2!
This tournament is IFPA-endorsed and results are submitted for IFPA ranking points.
We play a qualifying stage at the beginning of the event. After a set number of rounds or time, a top percentage of the field will progress to finals. The number of players progressing will be determined at the beginning of the event, as will any casual B-Division finals or side-comps.
Group Match Play
Players compete in groups of 3 or 4 on a series of machines. Points awarded by finishing position. Scored by wins over multiple rounds.
Single Elimination
A-Division, B-DivisionBracket-style elimination where losing a match eliminates the player. Meaningful games are determined by player count and best-of format.
