Regular events around Hobart — no membership required

Since February 2024, we've been gathering roughly every two weeks for competitive pinball. The day, time, and venue change from event to event — we deliberately mix things up so that if one week doesn't suit your schedule, the next one might. Check our upcoming events page for the latest details.

Rotating Venues

We move between several venues around Hobart including Replay Bar, Deep South Brewing Co., The Winston, and others. If you can't make it to one venue, a different one might be more convenient next time.

Flexible Scheduling

Events have been held on Thursdays, Saturdays, Fridays, Sundays, and more. Start times vary too — from afternoon sessions to evening meetups. We rotate to give as many people as possible a chance to play.

The rules and format for the evening are explained at the start time listed on the event. The format changes from event to event, keeping things interesting — if you're not sure what's going on, just ask. Every event is posted on our website and social media with the specific day, time, and venue. We aim to give plenty of notice so you can plan ahead.

Just Show Up

TAPP has no formal membership. There's no joining fee, no sign-up, and no ongoing commitment — you become part of the community simply by turning up and playing. First-time players are always welcome. Whether you're a seasoned competitor chasing world ranking points or you've never touched a pinball machine before, you'll fit right in. The rotating schedule means there's bound to be an event that suits your life. We'd love to see you there.

Playing in a Tournament

TAPP events are competitive — but approachable. Every evening starts with a brief explanation of the format for the night, so you're never in the dark. Here are a few things to keep in mind when you arrive:

Format

The format changes from event to event. The rules for the evening are explained at the start — if you're not sure what's happening, just ask. See our Tournament Formats page for more detail on how different formats work.

Etiquette

Respect your fellow players and the machines. Wait your turn, and avoid distracting or disrupting someone else during their play. A positive atmosphere is part of what makes TAPP events great.

Strategy

It's not just about scoring points — it's about outperforming your opponents. In head-to-head formats, consider each move carefully. Experienced players are always happy to share tips if you ask.

Be on Time

If you arrive after play has started, you may be unable to join or could receive negative points for missed matches — so aim to be there at the listed start time.
