Saturday afternoon saw a great crew descend on a private New Town venue for the round robin, and what a great night it was!

Huge thanks go to Brett for hosting — his collection is second to none, and neither is his hospitality. Between rounds, people kept warm around the firepit, and a solid stack of pizzas kept everyone fueled for the long haul. Photos were thin on the ground this time — everyone was too busy playing and chatting to reach for their phones, and the few we did get weren't much better: the pinball neon sign prize was so bright it washed out the camera every time we tried to photograph the winners, and poor Bennet ended up cropped clean out of the finals shot by accident. Sorry, Bennet!

True to the plan though, it was a full round robin — everybody played everybody, across a rotating series of machines. With a big group locked in, that meant a long list of pairings to get through, and the night ran later than usual as a result. Big thanks to everyone for their patience as we worked through every last matchup, and to everybody who came along and took part — it made for a cracking field.

A couple of moments stood out along the way. Starship Trooper's flashers were on another level — bright enough during multiball that a few players ended up reaching for sunglasses just to keep playing. And over on Cirqus Voltaire, Jamie Axelsen put together an outstanding Copy Cat run, riding a genuinely deep sequence all the way to 3.2 million (some impressive memory/fast hands there!).

The headline result belongs to Kaleb Southwell, who took out first place — his first-ever A-division win. Impressively, Kaleb has been playing competitively for less than a year, and this result is proof of just how fast he's been climbing. Keep an eye on him heading into the state finals.

Joshua Hesketh ran him for second, taking home the Pulp Fiction Soundtrack — donated by Lee, so a big thank you there too.

Third and fourth place came down to the wire, with Kev Mills and Bennet McComish finishing locked together and forced into a tiebreaker. Kev sealed it on Twilight Zone to claim third, with Bennet taking fourth.

Beyond the top of the table, it was another night of everyone's game continuing to climb — plenty of great games and hard-fought points right down the field. Thanks again to Brett for opening his doors to us, to Lee for the prize donation, and to everyone who made the trip out for a long but thoroughly enjoyable afternoon and evening of pinball. See you all at the next one!

This event concluded on 15 August 2026.

Clear your Saturday afternoon — we're gathering at a private location in New Town on the 15th of August, kicking off at 4pm for an afternoon of head-to-head pinball.

This is a pretty special collection, and we're hugely grateful to our hosts for opening their doors to us. Because it's a private spot, RSVPs are an absolute must (contact us) to secure your place — make sure you lock yours in early.

The plan is a round robin where everybody plays everybody once — though we'll confirm the final format on the night depending on how many players we get. Either way you'll be matched up across a series of machines, with points on the line in every game, so bring your A-game and stay consistent.

Entry is $20 this time — a touch higher than usual, but it includes dinner to keep you fuelled through the night. Just BYO drinks. Whether you're chasing ranking points or just keen for a fun afternoon of flips and friendly rivalry, come on down. See you there!
