Privacy & Terms
Privacy Policy
The Tasmanian Association of Pinball Players (TAPP) is a volunteer-run community organisation. This policy describes what information is collected when you use this website or attend our events, and how it is handled.
Hosting and Infrastructure
This website runs on Cloudflare Pages with Cloudflare Workers. Every request to the site passes through Cloudflare's network. Cloudflare logs standard server-side request data — including IP addresses, request paths, and timing — as part of its infrastructure service. We have Workers observability logging enabled, which records request-level invocation data. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy for how they handle this data.
Cookies
We do not set any cookies on public visitors browsing the site. Our analytics tool (Umami) is also cookie-free. Cookies are only issued to TAPP administrators when they sign in to the admin panel. Admin session cookies include:
- Session cookie — an HTTP-only authentication token, valid for 24 hours, used to keep you signed in to the admin panel.
- Two-factor authentication cookie — a short-lived cookie (10 minutes) used during the two-factor sign-in process.
- Trusted device cookie — set when an admin chooses to trust a device for 7 days, to reduce repeated 2FA prompts.
Third-Party Embeds
Some pages on this site load content from third-party services. When you load or interact with these embeds, those services may collect your IP address and other browsing data according to their own privacy policies.
- YouTube — the What is Pinball? page embeds a YouTube video playlist, and YouTube may be embedded in event descriptions written by our admins. YouTube is operated by Google. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Google Maps — venue and event pages include an optional map. The map only loads when you click to open it. It is served as a Google Maps embed. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- IFPA — our leaderboard pages display player profile photos loaded directly from the IFPA website (ifpapinball.com). Loading these images may be visible to IFPA's servers. See IFPA's Privacy Policy.
- Merchandise stores — our merch page links to external third-party stores where TAPP merchandise is sold. Clicking those links takes you to a separate website. We have no visibility into those transactions and each store operates under its own privacy policy and terms.
- Umami Analytics — we use Umami to collect anonymous page-view statistics (pages visited, referrer, country, device type, and browser). Umami does not use cookies and does not collect personal information. Analytics are not loaded for logged-in administrators. Data is processed by Umami Software Inc. See Umami's Privacy Policy.
Event Check-In
When you check in to a TAPP event using the online check-in form, we record:
- The name you enter
- Whether you declared yourself a first-time player
- Whether you declared payment via our honesty money-box system
- A record that you accepted these terms at the time of check-in (consent version and timestamp)
We do not collect email addresses, phone numbers, or payment details through the check-in form. Check-in records are stored in our database (Cloudflare D1) and are only accessible to TAPP administrators.
Player Directory
We maintain an internal player directory to help match check-in names to known players. This stores display names and, where known, IFPA player IDs. Entries are managed by TAPP administrators and are not publicly visible. If you want to review or remove your entry, contact us.
Tournament Results and Leaderboards
- Published results: Tournament results — including player names and finishing positions — are published on this website, on IFPA, and on matchplay.events. This is standard practice for IFPA-endorsed competitive pinball.
- Leaderboard data: Our leaderboards are powered by data from IFPA's public rankings API — player names, ranking statistics, and profile photos. We cache a local copy in our database to serve the leaderboard pages.
- Third-party policies: See the IFPA Privacy Policy and matchplay.events Privacy Policy for how those platforms handle your data.
- Removal requests: If you do not want your name in our results, contact us. Note that results already submitted to IFPA must also be addressed directly with IFPA.
Photos and Media
- Photos and videos may be taken at TAPP events and published on this website or our social media channels.
- By attending our events, you acknowledge that you may appear in such media.
- If you prefer not to be photographed, please let a TAPP organiser know at the event or contact us. We cannot guarantee exclusion from crowd or background shots, but we will do our best to respect your request.
Admin Accounts
TAPP administrators sign in via email and password with two-factor authentication. Admin accounts store name, email address, and session data (including IP address and browser/device information used for authentication security). Admin accounts are held by TAPP organisers only — there is no public registration.
Data Retention
We do not have a fixed retention schedule. Check-in records, player directory entries, and tournament results are retained indefinitely as part of our historical records. If you would like data we hold about you reviewed or deleted, contact us and we will handle it on a case-by-case basis. Note that results already submitted to IFPA are outside our control to delete.

Terms and Conditions
By using this website or participating in TAPP events, you agree to the following terms.
Code of Conduct
TAPP has a Code of Conduct to keep our events safe, fun, and welcoming for everyone. All participants are expected to uphold these values.
Respect
Treat everyone with courtesy and kindness
Inclusivity
Welcome players of all backgrounds and abilities
Safety
Maintain a secure and supportive environment
Sportsmanship
Compete with integrity and fairness
Harassment, discrimination, or any form of inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated.
Event Participation
- Result publication: By entering a TAPP tournament, you consent to your name and finishing position being published on this website, on IFPA, and on matchplay.events. Results submitted to IFPA cannot be removed from IFPA's records without a separate request to IFPA.
- Payment: Where an entry fee applies, payment is collected on an honesty basis via our money-box system. Declaring payment without paying is a breach of these terms and may result in exclusion from future events.
- Code of Conduct: All participants must follow our Code of Conduct. Behaviour that is harassing, discriminatory, or disruptive may result in removal from the event or exclusion from future events.
- Rules: Tournament play is governed by our tournament rules and any event-specific instructions from organisers on the day.
- Minors: Players under 18 are welcome at TAPP events. By bringing a minor to an event, a parent or guardian accepts these terms on their behalf, including consent to result publication and the possibility of appearing in event photography.
Check-In
By submitting the online check-in, you confirm that:
- The name you have entered is accurate
- You have read and agree to these terms
- You consent to your name and result being published as described above
- You have paid the applicable entry fee, or are eligible for a first-time waiver
Website Use
- Accuracy: We aim to keep information on this website current, but we make no guarantees about the completeness or accuracy of any content, including event times, venues, or results.
- Acceptable use: You must not use this website for any unlawful purpose or in any way that could damage or disrupt it.
Intellectual Property
- Website content: Content on this website is published under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence. You may share and adapt the material with appropriate credit.
- Third-party trademarks: References to pinball manufacturers, game titles, and platforms such as IFPA and matchplay.events are for descriptive purposes. All trademarks remain the property of their respective owners.
Limitation of Liability
TAPP is a volunteer-run community organisation. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from participation in our events, use of this website, or reliance on any information published here.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the website or participation in events after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. When material changes are made, we will update the check-in consent version date.
Governing Law
TAPP operates in Tasmania, Australia. These terms are governed by the laws of Tasmania and the Commonwealth of Australia. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Tasmania.
