Pin Diemen's Land Sat 26 Sep · 12 PM → Sun 27 Sep · 5:30 PM

Pin Diemen's Land is our premier event of the weekend, played across Saturday and Sunday. Players build their position through qualifying before returning for finals the next day.

  • Saturday (12pm – ~6pm): Qualifying rounds

  • Sunday (12pm – ~5pm): Finals

Targeting ~200% TGP, with enough WPPRs on the line to likely earn a State Finals invitation.

The top players advance to A Division finals, played as a double-elimination bracket. Matches in the winners bracket are best-of-5, while the lower (losers) bracket is best-of-3 — so a loss doesn’t end your run, but it does put you on a tougher path where every match becomes do-or-die.

All remaining players (regardless of rank) compete in B Division, which will run as matchplay.
B Division results count toward final standings and WPPRs — this isn’t an exhibition.

Prize money will be paid based on total entries, with a target structure of:

  • Top 8 in A Division

  • Top 4 in B Division

We’re expecting 1st place in A Division to take home $300+, with final payout amounts and exact positions confirmed closer to the event.

Team Throwdown Sat 26 Sep · 7 PM → 10 PM

Saturday night is all about teams, rivalries, and a bit of strategy. Grab a group and represent your club — or form your own crew and take on the regulars. Teams are 4 or more players, so there’s plenty of room to build a lineup and play to your strengths.

Aiming for a double round-robin — play every other team twice.

If time is tight, we’ll adjust to a simpler schedule matching teams against each other as evenly as possible.

Each round you’ll be matched up twice, and you’ll need to decide which players to send into each game — balancing form, matchups, and a bit of gamesmanship against your opponents.

Each match is scored using standard 7 / 5 / 3 / 1 points, with your two players contributing to a combined team score. The team with the higher combined total earns a +5 bonus, so strong overall performances are rewarded — not just individual wins.

There will be a large perpetual trophy on the line for the winning team. They must commit to returning the trophy for any future version of this matchup.

We may tweak the exact structure on the night depending on team numbers and time available, but the focus will always be on keeping it competitive, social, and fun — with plenty of bragging rights on the line.

Team Throwdown

Teams face off in strategic 4-player matchplay games, combining individual scores with a team bonus for the highest combined performance.

Closeout Max Dinner Matchplay Sun 27 Sep · 5:30 PM → 8 PM

Wrap up the weekend with a relaxed session of pinball and a fully catered dinner included in your entry. It’s a chance to unwind after finals, catch up with everyone, and enjoy a few more games while sharing a meal.

Continuous max-matchplay will run for the remaining time, so you can jump into rounds, pick up some extra WPPRs, and finish the weekend on a high — good food, good games, and good company.

Max Match Play

Casual unlimited-rounds matchplay where the duration (matches per player) equals the meaningful games count.

Pin Diemen's Land is a full weekend of competitive pinball -- three days of tournaments, social play, and friendly rivalry, all under one (very good) roof.

With a field targeting around 40 players, this is shaping up to be the largest IFPA pinball tournament ever held in Tasmania. It's designed to be worth the trip whether you're playing one event or staying for the lot.

The Weekend

  • Friday Night Warm-Up A chance to get dialled in before the main action kicks off.

  • Main Event (Saturday + Sunday): The headline event, played across two days with results spanning both A and B Divisions. Targeting ~200% TGP with enough WPPR value on the line to likely earn a State Finals invitation -- meaning players across Tasmania can potentially qualify in a single weekend.

  • Team Event (Saturday Night) Represent your club, take on the rest of the field, and settle some scores. Built for strategy, banter, and bragging rights -- this one's for the rivalries.

  • Sunday Closeout A relaxed finish to the weekend, with dinner included. Deep South Brewing Co. are opening especially for us on Sunday to make the full three days possible.

Full details on formats, structure, and rules are in the Tournaments tab.

Getting Here from Interstate?

Make a trip of it. Great food, great drink, and southern Tasmania on your doorstep -- there's plenty to explore beyond the pinball.
